URBAN OUTFITTERS TRIBAL CONTROVERSY
The Tribal Trend is proving a problem for Urban Outfitters. Native American Indians have insisted that the chain removes it's 'Navajo' trend, after finding it's underwear and fabric wrapped flasks "culturally insensitive". The Navajo tribe is the largest in North America and currently holds a minimum of 10 trademarks to it's name, including online retail sales and clothing.
Urban Outfitters have removed the word 'Navajo' from their site, replacing it with words such as Aztec, but it is currently unclear as to whether or not they will be pulling their tribal products.
